Conclusion at the Whispering Cairn, Session Thirteen

The Wind Warriors struck first, clanging their long swords together causing concordant sounds to strike upon Grog and Nyphystra. Grog evaded the attack, but the less dexterous Nyphystra appeared to be affected by the sonic assault. Battle was upon them; the heroes reacted quickly to defend themselves and return strikes on the wind warrior guardians. As the guardians continued both sonic and duel wielding attacks, Grog and Nyphystra returned devastating strikes of their own. Azeryth, Twexlin and Cha’ti answered the call, striking with arcane bolts, lethal arrows, and a well-placed black bear summoned in between Nyphystra and one of the guardians. As Grog and Nyphystra struck at the wind warrior, the black bear struck with devastating effect upon the other guardian. The battle was fought very well, and the heroes prevailed with little injury. It appeared Nyphystra took the brunt of it, but Cha’ti helped her with a bit of his healing. After the battle concluded the group took stock, and then systematically followed Grog into the wind tunnel that led upward into the light. This is where the party was rewarded by finding the tomb of Zosiel a lesser Wind Duke, but renowned for his intricate part in destroying Memnon the fiendish Efreeti Lord. After speaking the proper name to access the sarcophagus, Grog was able to slide the lid off exposing what was hidden within. The party found a magical diadem, some ancient remnants of Memnon, and a secured box that appeared to hold a powerful magic item. The group completed searching the small chamber then departed using the wind tunnel. Minutes later the party found themselves back at the old mine office. Cha’ti had made sure his wolf companion “Shadow” did well watching over Filge as they awaited Horus and Reavers return. The group was anxious, and decided they could not wait any longer and made a trip back to Daggerford were they would later turn Filge over to the church of Tyr. The group met up with Horus the raven and Reaver the ranger within the Garrison walls, then were escorted to meet Melinde’ a Paladin of Tyr. She quickly took charge, and locked Filge away to await his trial with the head of church. The young heroes took their leave and paid room and board at the Able Carter Coaching Inn where they enjoyed a meal before going to bed. The next morning as I scried the party, I realized they were looking for further guidance and went to Delfen’s tower. Delfen was a smart man, and would provide the party excellent information in regards to what they found in the cairn. I looked forward to hearing what he would think in regards to the items they collected. I should have realized Delfen would have taken precautions, as the party entered his study I was no longer able to scry upon them, and I was not able to hear what they found. I realized at that point I should just make my way to Daggerford and seek them out in person. I’m sure they had much to share with me as it was.
