Forgotten Realms: Age of Worms
Departure and Planning, Session Twelve
The next morning as I scried the young heroes I observed that they were quite alert and ready for trouble. From what I was able to tell the Necromancers familiar was attempting to bring help. It appeared that the Albino Half-orc and his thugs were not interested in saving Filge. They probably thought it best to not get involved any further then they already were. Maybe it was the magic missile from the Air Genasi wizard; Azeryth struck the familiar with a bolt after Twexlin the ranger nearly hit it with a well-placed shot from his bow. The bolt did not kill the owl familiar, but it was wounded enough that it looked to be disabled. I watch the Thugs depart not wanting to fight on someone else’s terms. Nyphysytra the Aasimar fighter squeezed through the makeshift barricade and searched out the owl familiar. As the familiar flushed from the tall grass, another azure bolt struck it killing it. Nyphystra collected it up and after a short while the entire party departed the old observatory and left town with the Necro in tow as a captive. The group buried the remains of all the Land family back at the farmstead then the group traveled the remainder of the day to reach the abandoned mine office. The group completed interrogating the foul Necromancer then debated on what they would do next. It was interesting to hear how the young adventurers thought things through. I agreed with the final decision; they sent Azeryth’s familiar “Horus” the raven to Daggerford to fetch Reaver. It appeared they wanted to involve the garrison and the church of Tyr. I’m sure Tyr would mete out some justice for Filge the Necro. After a nice meal and nights rest in the mine office the heroes traveled the ten or so minutes to the Whispering Cairn to conclude the task they were given originally by me. I hoped that today’s events would produce good results. When I next looked in on the heroes they were entering the trapped room where they had made the deal with the ghost known as Alistor Land. Obviously the deal was accepted, for the door was easily opened, and they were never greeted by Alistor. I hope the young man is now resting peacefully with his family. The next room appeared to be what I had expected; it looked as if they found the inner sanctum leading to Zosiel the Minor Wind Dukes resting place. The party explored the circular room taking interest in the unique Bas-reliefs that prevailed. It was not until Nyphystra stepped upon the inner circles platform that the Wind Warrior Guardians appeared prepared to defend the resting place of Zosiel. I watched in silence wishing the young heroes success in the upcoming battle.
