Forgotten Realms: Age of Worms
Land Farmstead, Empty graves and the Owlbear, Session Seven
The adventurers traveled the small distance to the abandoned mine office where Reaver and I awaited. After a nice repast with the young heroes, hearing about there exploits in the cairn, and looking over the items they collected I realized I had to seek further guidance. I hope the party takes my advice and seek out Delfen in Daggerford; I think he would be a great asset, and maybe put some light on some of the artifacts they found. Early the next morning I took my leave. Later that day I had a chance to scry the young heroes and see what they were up to. As I keyed in on them, I noticed they had made the day long journey to the farmstead they seek. As they searched the area they found that the graves had recently been robbed of the corpses. Knowing what I know about making deals with powerful demons and undead they were not done with this quest. The five of them searched out the ruins of the homestead where they did battle with a ferocious Owl Bear. The battle was bloody; Nyphystra took a nasty hit opening her up badly, but not before she left her mark. Twexlin and his deadly arrows helped while the Druid and his summoned pets harried the magical beast. With a nice azure bolt from Azeryth, and a well placed stab of Grog’s great spear the beast went down. It was a great battle to watch, I feel proud seeing the young heroes work as a team. After they completed healing and re-grouping they explored the interior and found a tattooed arm as well as a baby owl bear. Unless I stand corrected, baby owl bears can be worth a bit o’gold to the right buyer. I know they could use the money, but it would also serve as a nice guardian for the mine office. I truly wonder what they will decide; it looks as if the furry little critter took a liking to the lady warrior Nyphystra. I observed they looked to plan on staying the night so I took my leave and pursued business elsewhere. I planned on looking in on them first thing in the morning and see what Daggerford brings the party. I’m sure they have many things to take care of.
