Tyr Justice, and a dinner with Balaber Smenk, Session Fourteen

As I walked the corridors of Twilight Hall in Berdusk I thought about the items and information gathered by the young adventurers in Daggerford. I had just briefed the council of High Harpers on some of the findings, but until I had better insight on what the future held I refrained from sharing everything I knew. It was foretold that an Overgod created by the Ebon Triad would not be able to come to fruition until Faerun was engulfed in an age of writhing doom. Many scholars have speculated on this, but until we truly have more information to research and study I will maintain an open mind. I still truly feel that Reavers vision of the young heroes has credit, and only time will tell.
I stepped outside admiring the blue sky, and the beautifully manicured grounds of Twilight Hall, and took out the magical figurine of my steed. Off to Daggerford for a visit with Reaver and the young heroes, and then off to Waterdeep and Silverymoon. I had much to listen too, and even more to learn. I hope and pray that Lady Luck will smile upon our quest to rid this world of this ever growing evil menace the Ebon Triad.
I reached Daggerford later that day, and procured a room at the Able Carter Coaching Inn, where I shared a meal and drink with Reaver and some of the locals. Later in the evening the young heroes arrived after a dinner with Balabar Smenk a local Mine Manager, and rumored to be a very corrupt schemer of Daggerford. We shared stories over a drink; it sounds like they had been quite busy acquiring new gear, information, and witnessing Tyr’s Justice. Filge the Necromancer was found guilty, and it was agreed by all that he was insane. A swift strike from a champion of Tyr took the deranged man’s head off, and the heroes were applauded as tools of Justice by Valkus Dun the local High Priest of Tyr. I was interested to hear about the proposition Balabar placed in front of the heroes, it appeared the scheming Mine Manager over played his hand and now was in a pickle. The fact that he was recruiting adventurers made me think he was trying to distance himself in case they failed and there were negative repercussions. I’m sure this was truly what Reaver had been warning me about. He had stated he feared that the strange undead writhing with green segmented worms originated from some evil underground temple. Now it sounds as if his intel has some truth to it. I look forward to seeing where this goes; the young heroes have another dinner meeting with Balabar to negotiate the deal. I hope for their sake they take precautions. This Smenk is a dangerous and powerful man with many connections.
