Forgotten Realms: Age of Worms
The Dark Cathedral, Heroes Defeat the Banites, Theldrick Runs, Session Nineteen
Azeryth and I sit within the luxuries of my private study as I scry the heroes next day; the Air Genasi continues to recover from his wounds. I noted that our healers appear to have healed him sufficiently to get on with his duties. He insisted on being part of the days scrying event, how was I to refuse him. The mist cleared within the large glassy orb. I instantly took note of the determination on each of the heroes’ faces. They appeared to be in good health and ready for the upcoming battle. I assumed they would have to confront the high priest of Bane this time; he had to die or flee the citadel. The party of four began the foray where they had left off, and gained entry into the door the Cleric of Bane had escaped through. Grog recon’d ahead of the party searching for traps as he descended down stone steps, and as he reached the bottom he was assaulted by a duo of troglodyte zombies. With cat like reflexes he was able to evade the initial surprise, and bound back up the steps to join the trio at the top. The zombies followed in pursuit but they were not alone, the high priest followed up with battle spells. The party made quick work of the undead, and took chase of the evil priest. The priest made quickly of his escape while the adventurers lingered searching over the various rooms of possible importance. After several hours of searching and studying clues, Grog was able to find some hidden caches and magically trapped areas that secured both valuables and scrolls with possible information important to the mission. Grog’s skills were able to best one of the traps, but one of them was beyond his skill and inflicted wounds upon him as he tried to disable it. I was not certain what all they gained, but I looked forward to seeing the items they were able to recover from the high priests chambers. From what I could tell they found a key that resembled the holy symbol of Bhaal. I found that was interesting, and could not figure in why it was in the Baneites quarters. I’m sure tomorrow will bring more insight on what is going on here.
