The following information I enter into my journal is a continuation from the memories of Azeryth-al-ja-tor Shazyth of Calimshan as he recalls them prior to his fall in battle.

“The party and I regrouped for another foray deeper into the citadel of Bane, but were quickly assaulted, and found ourselves in another pitched battle. Tiefling warriors dropped globes of darkness upon us as a pet Dire Boar was released into the fray to wreak death and destruction. Realizing this was a desperate act on the part of the cultists, I decided to go on the offensive with what little magic I had to dispense. As I struck with Magic Missiles, Grog quickly targeted the ferocious boar with his long spear, and Twexlin pierced the tough hide with multiple arrows. Cha’ti and the Aasimar quickly came to Grog’s aid with healing magic and a deadly blade. Before we knew it, the remaining tieflings retreated into a large arena that appeared to look more like a gladiatorial pit. We quickly realized we were not ready to be baited into a likely ambush, and decided to take a defensive posture and hold the area we gained in the last fight. The party healed, rested and talked about our options. It appeared the only way for us to continue our advance was to go exactly where they wanted us to go; into the arena. My only hope and prayers were that we had met the worse they had to throw at us. The next day would be a true test for all of us.”
